ZAK LAND ~ Fantasy SERIES
In this work I have endeavored to produce a light hearted and jovial set of
landscapes. For me the realization of the past years, since 1985, of
lat work have indeed been about this intent intermixed with an awe for the
space Big Sky country has.
-
The segments of scape are
layers, items, with the foreground hunks moved in like sets.
-
The sky portions give
atmosphere of happy sunsets, good morning sunrise and optimistic day
break.
-
The colorful hills offer a
carnival quality to the scape. A midday look.
-
The tree forms are the
central characters of Zak-land . . . posing, dancing, with plumage of
wonder and banners of foliage.
-
Ghost trees offer memories
and legend, ancient maze give a primordial context. A void left in
time.
-
Open fields of cloth hold
the collage sense of composition - parts and pieces sequenced in layers
reinforce visual logic. Canopies of the characters even the sky
floats in open canvas, all vignettes.
